Pushing the Cocknbullkid in front of our readers is like pointing out the heavens to a holy man, as we’ve awarded so much attention to Anita Blay and her wicked creations that there really shouldn’t be any readers left that remain unconverted.
Having been on the online radars for a few years, 2011 should be the year in which Cocknbullkid finally breaks through, as we run up to the release of her long-awaited debut album, Adulthood.
We have the latest remix in a gathering line of re-edits for her song, Hold On To Your Misery, this time by Black Cherry. It’s no wonder that Anita Blay is ripe for a rework, as she has lots of the correct ingredients, including melodic pop, a four-beat pace, lots of yummy hooks, massive choruses, but most of all, a clean and endearing voice.

Cocknbullkid is armed with such a complete package, so it’s no wonder Janelle Monae recently commented on how much she adores Anita, before quickly snapping her up for the new UK tour.
