THE DESCRIER

This week The Descrier was launched. It is a new web service created by fellow music blogger, Tim Dickinson, (of The Blue Walrus fame). He is well known for running one of the UK’s best-established, independent music blogs and his passion for independent voices and quality content has given rise to The Descrier.

We’ve been in touch with Tim and he’s described The Descrier as “a curated newspaper for the digital age“. Basically, he hunts around the web sourcing the best content from independent voices online. He curates the most thought-provoking articles around, covering everything from analysis on the situation in Syria, to the discovery of the Higgs Boson ‘God-particle’ at CERN, to the latest upcoming bands and film releases.

He is trying to offer a different perspective on the Internet’s content, because these online authors are the activists, the bloggers, the scientists, and others directly involved in the stories, all of whom are now being collated together under one service. As part of the ‘music’ section, he has recruited a short list of established music bloggers, (which we’ve listed below), and you can see that The Recommender has been included on the list.

BLOGS: A New Band A Day, Dots & Dashes, Drunken Werewolf, Faded Glamour, Not Many Experts, Song, by Toad, The Blue Walrus, The Mad Mackerel, The Recommender, The VPME.

We would like to thank Tim and his team for including us, wishing him the best of luck with this imaginative idea. We look forward to regularly visiting what will prove to be an independent space for independent voices, updated daily. If you like your content liberated from the media conglomerates and instead delivered through a fresh and exciting channel then please bookmark The Descrier right now, follow them on Twitter too and we promise that your world will be a richer place for it.
