A BRAVE NEW WORLD

Yes you’ve returned to the right place – this is still The Recommender music blog that you all know and love, so please don’t panic. We’ve had our blogging elves on overdrive whipping up this new design, with the aim of bringing you a smoother, slicker and smarter Recommender experience.

The aim of this blog has always been to bring you the best new music from around the world, with a focus on providing good quality, well researched write ups. Showcasing it in a website that attempts to be just as sharp has always been an aim and so we are over-joyed to welcome you to our new home.

The team, of myself (Mike), Olivia, Matt and Natasha, (see our profiles on the new About tab above), remains in place, and who knows, perhaps new additions can come on board in due course.

We were also pleased that the technical team who helped design this new WordPress template are not only local to the blogs home of Brighton (UK), but are also big music lovers and readers of the site. Firstly, Matt Barker, who shares as much passion for music as we do, but has an equal interest in design, took some time out from running his own design company, Artwerk, to create our shiny new logo. Logos are the flag of a music blog and we think you will agree that ours stands up as strong as anyone’s, so thank you Matt.

Secondly, we discovered that the guitarist from an exceptional Brighton-based electronic pop band, :Kinema:, who we had previously booked to play a Recommender show, turned out to be just as expert at playing with WordPress as he is the six strings. Andy Nelson, with his calm nature and helpful guidance was a joy to work with, keeping us constantly informed and working hard to accomplish our aims.

So this really is a blog born in Brighton and made by Brighton, which we think is significant, as it’s one of the best cities in the UK – in fact, the world – for new music. We look forward to enriching your life with plenty of it for many years to come.

Thanks
Mike
