REAL FUR – GIG NEWS

It’s The Recommender’s third birthday today, (please leave any happy birthday wishes in the comments), so we have set about planning when and where to celebrate! As if by divine intervention we have one of our favourite new bands, Real Fur, arriving in Brighton to play a rather special show, on Thursday 31st March.

This band are not only utterly brilliant, but they’re famed for throwing these secret ‘Safari Funk’ parties in London. They are always held in strange and unusual places, such as old post offices and laundrettes. They turn up, they kit the place out, set up projections and a sound system and blast through a set. We are pleased to announce that they’re planning to do their first ever Brighton party this Thursday at a laundrette on St James Street, from 9pm.

Obviously these spaces are rather small and so the show will fill pretty rapidly, so it’s worth getting there on time. We can’t think of a more fun and unique way to enjoy celebrating The Recommender’s birthday, with an exciting band, in an exciting place, so come down and say hello.

If you fail to make the laundrette party then fear not, as the band, along with Cold Puma, are planning to then play the after party at The Green Door Store, so we will be continuing the evening’s frivolities there. If we don’t get them to sing at least one round of happy birthday to us then, although it’s not officially our party, we might just cry…if we want to. (MB)
